The Kindergarten year is an exciting year! In our Christ centered classroom, we learn to treat others with respect and dignity. Ours days are filled with creative lessons, exploration opportunities, and problem solving activities. Each day, we learn what it means to be a student and what is expected to become a lifelong learner. Some of the skills developed in Kindergarten include:
- Daily Religion lessons and weekly mass attendance
- Structured, systematic phonics and handwriting lessons
- Whole language literature lessons
- Smartboard lessons and daily technology activities
- Saxon Math, including problem solving and reasoning activities
- Hands-on Science and Health units
- Interactive Citizenship and Social Studies units
- Open ended center activities, including math, language, fine motor development, handwriting, blocks, dramatic play, and art
- Creative art s activities
- Weekly library, music, and art classes
- Weekly physical education classes which focus on introducing motor skill development, personal relationships, and physical fitness.
